  The Consorzio ZAI and the quality system
Since the year 2000, the Consorzio
ZAI, a public economic body and consortium for the industrial development of Verona and province, has been awarded certification in merit of the conformity of its company management system to the
UNI EN ISO 9001 and SA 8000 norms on company responsibility.
The Consorzio ZAI, as well as being the first Italian industrial consortium to be certified on the basis of the
UNI EN ISO 9000 norm, is also among the first in Italy and Europe to have obtained the certificate of conformity to the
SA 8000 norm regarding the management of company responsibility within the company itself.
This decision was reached because, in order to satisfy the ever-increasing market needs,
certifying a company’s own activity in terms of conformity to the
UNI EN ISO 9000 norm has become a necessary condition as a qualification of the soundness and the level of quality of the company’s operative system.
It has given us the appropriate operative means by creating the right environment for carrying out our activities correctly and for coordinating the company’s tasks.
In fact, on the basis of its own company policy, the consortium has reorganised and further trained its staff and has
strengthened its services regarding the needs of small and medium-sized companies, providing
support and promotion activities for the
economic development of the
Veronese area.

As well as managing relations with its own staff, activities regarding the management of relations with concessionaires and assignees, designing and planning, work management and dispossession activities, recognised by the constitutive law and always in accordance with the specific laws in force, have also been subjects for certification.
The Consorzio ZAI, in carrying out its own established and recognised institutional role, not only in terms of Veronese economical organisations but also throughout the entire Veneto region, places its goodwill in wanting to make sure that the activities are done and developed with the aim of promoting the local and regional economical context, including a view to company responsibility.
And it is basically for this reason that the organisation has chosen to have a company responsibility management system that conforms with the
SA 8000 norm in order to qualitatively favour and encourage the
professional improvement of its own employees.
In fact, the consortium is well aware that, in order for its activities to be successful, one of its fundamental resources is its staff and it endeavours to improve staff
professionalism and to update its employees to face the needs arising from
globalisation.
This result has been reached thanks to the implementation of a system that derives from the continual and constant involvement of all the consortium structures in the full knowledge that they belong to a team that is working for the development of the territory with
objectives of general social interest.
Therefore, by obtaining the company quality system certification, the
Consorzio ZAI can assure all the interested parties that their activities have been developed with the purpose of
promoting the local and regional economic context in accordance with
company quality and responsibility norms.
